2003
Founding of MKL GmbH
MKL GmbH was founded in April 2003 by Ms Petra Riedl-Rauscher. Starting with a workforce of 25 at the time, the company has grown steadily and now employs around 140 staff.
2005
Expansion of the range of services
Initially, the core business focused on logistics, outsourcing and warehouse management. As early as 2005, the portfolio was expanded to include transport, logistics services and so-called value-added services.
2011
Site expansion and growth
In June 2011, the company moved from Kirchheim to larger premises in Schwaig near Munich, in the immediate vicinity of the airport. In October of the same year, MKL GmbH also opened its branch in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg in the Frankfurt area.
2012
Expansion of the branch network
The company continued on its growth trajectory with the opening of a further branch in Mannheim.
2013
New presence in Ostfildern
In 2013, the branch in Ostfildern near Stuttgart was opened, further strengthening the company’s regional presence.
2017
Expansion into North Rhine-Westphalia
With the opening of the Essen site in 2017, MKL GmbH once again expanded its branch network and consolidated its position as a reliable partner for logistics and transport services in Germany.
2018
Relocation of the Mannheim branch
The Mannheim branch moves into new, larger premises, thereby laying the foundations for further growth in the region.
2022
Acquisition of Gerdts Spedition GmbH, Hamburg
Gerdts Spedition GmbH becomes part of the MKL Group and will initially continue to operate as an independent company.
2023
20 years of MKL GmbH and strategic reorientation
MKL GmbH celebrates its 20th anniversary and looks back with pride on two successful decades in the logistics sector. At the same time, the company is setting the course for the future: the strategic reorientation is being consistently implemented with the expansion of the management team to include Christoph Maier as an additional managing director and Christian Baumann as an authorised signatory and member of the management team. This step strengthens the management structure and lays the foundations for further growth and a successful future.
2025
Expansion of the company headquarters in Schwaig
Due to its continuous growth, MKL expands its headquarters in Schwaig, creating additional capacity for the future.

MKL GmbH is a well-established medium-sized company with several sites across Germany, offering its customers bespoke solutions in the fields of logistics, transport and warehouse management, as well as a wide range of value-added services.
